If you need help adding EPIC games to Steam Library you can use this tool called steamgriddb Manager. Then just launch HZD and check your performance, the change is amazing and instant. I run steam on elevated admin privileges, so make sure you run it too, just in case.
My GPU performance is with-in range or "normal" on both tests but the CPU performance is the one that got fixed, so that might be a clue as to why this "fix" works.
